About Toprast
I'm Kennedy. I build websites, and I write here about what happens when I do.
That is the whole idea. Most of what I publish started as something I got wrong, went looking for an answer to, and then wrote down so I would not have to look it up twice.
Why this exists
I had a site rejected by AdSense. Not a small one either. It had close to four hundred articles on it.
I spent a few weeks trying to work out what was actually wrong, because the message Google sends you does not say much. What I ended up doing was going through my own Search Console report line by line and writing down every problem I could find.
There were fourteen. Some were tiny. A couple had quietly broken hundreds of pages, and I had no idea until I looked.
I fixed them, and then I started again from nothing. This site is that second attempt, built with the rules written down first instead of discovered afterwards.
What gets published here
Three kinds of thing, and I try to stick to them:
- Something I ran into myself, and how I got out of it.
- A claim that gets repeated everywhere, checked against the document it came from.
- Numbers from my own sites. Including the bad ones.
If a post is not one of those, I do not publish it. That rules out most of what I could write, which is sort of the point.
What I will not do here
Try to sell you a course. Write "top ten tools you must try" posts. Tell you an app changed my life.
I have no interest in writing any of that, and you would see through it anyway.
Where I get things wrong
Regularly. When I catch it, I fix the article and say so at the bottom instead of quietly editing it and pretending the first version never existed.
If you spot something, tell me. I would rather know than not.
Where to start
If you are not sure what to read first, the whole list is on the articles page. Two places are worth going straight to:
- SEO, where most of the writing ends up. The posts about Search Console and AdSense rejections live there.
- AI tools, for the ones I actually use and the ones I stopped using.
There is not much there yet. I would rather publish four things I can stand behind than forty I cannot.
Getting in touch
There is a contact page. Messages from it land in my inbox and I read all of them.
